Five Roses
The Five Roses flour mill with its iconic sign has been a landmark in Montreal since 1948. Up until about 1954 it said "FARINE OGILVIE FLOUR," but it was then changed to "FARINE FIVE ROSES FLOUR." The word "FLOUR" was removed in 1977 in accordance with Quebec's language laws. ("FIVE ROSES" remains, because it is a brand name and is therefore exempt.) (Source.)
