On our first full day in Rome we stopped for lunch at a little sidewalk terrace near the colosseum. I had spaghetti with clams and porchini mushrooms (pictured elsewhere) and Martine had turkey breast with lemon sauce (pictured here).
It looks really basic, but that's the way it usually is in Italy – there's no such thing as a full meal on one plate. This was taken from the "secondi piatti" menu, which usually consists of some kind of meat or fish and that's it. If you want vegetables you have to order "contorni" separately. The potatoes on this plate were a bit of a bonus.
