Killer Strawberry Desert
Venice
Pardon the wierd colors – this was taken outdoors at night. It's the desert we shared after dinner at a small canalside restaurant in Canarregio, a less touristy part of Venice.
The desert consisted of a crisp pastry bowl with a bed of basil and some kind of sweet vinegar, piled with strawberries. On the side was some ice cream and chocolate sauce and cocoa powder. Awesome!
I should also mention that the seafood risotto we had as a primi was outstanding too.
