Dream!

See if you can analyze this dream I had last night. My cat, Spiff, needed medical treatment. Specifically, he needed a new body, although his head was just fine.

So I went to see a veterinarian, who for some reason was located in a photocopy center (along the lines of Kinko’s or Copie Express). M and I sat there, discussing Spiff’s need for a new body, while behind the vet the photocopiers whirred and flashed.

Spiff-Head.jpgThen it got weird. You see, I had Spiff’s head in my jacket pocket, just stuffed in there like a baseball. Worse, it was starting to leak water, as if it had been frozen and was thawing out. Oddly, the scene didn’t feel macabre — just weird and I was annoyed that my pocket was so wet. I was thinking “I should have put it in a sandwich bag.”

Some swirly dream stuff happened that I don’t quite remember, and the next thing you know we’re home and Spiff has been put back together again. The surgery seemed to have worked, and his new body was remarkably similar to his old one. Everything was fine except he had a weird limp when he walked, as if his spinal cord hadn’t been hooked to his new body quite right.

I think you wished that I stayed the same yet that I would get a new body. ‘Cause you know, everything is always about me.

    ;-)

Spiff says he doesn’t care about your dreams. He just wants you to come home and feed him.

Methinks you both need to get out a little bit before you start eating catnip and then go crazy with a Bedazzler(tm) on mommy’s good curtains and then, oh, then you’ll be sorry when your father comes home, mister man!

I think your cat tried to hypnotise you before you went to bed and the experiment went wrong. Or maybe it’s staring at him on your computer wallpaper, no human could stand such intense cat staring without its neurones being affected (that said I wish our cat photographed as well as yours does).
Did you know cats write the instuctions on tins. One a colleague bought recently said “feed your cat as much as they want as cats rarely over-eat”.
Since you and Martin are avid reasers you are bound to know which book this came from “in the begining god created the cat. Then god created man to serve the cat and so man could invent central heating” (not verbatim - from memory).

You know, I loved that post, it made me laugh and I could relate to the “weirdness” of being in a weird situation and thinking it’s normal, in a dream.

I guess it must have stuck in my mind, because last night I dreamed that Comet woke me up, and had something in her maw. It was her disembodied front paw she had gnawed off! I took her to the vet and he thought it was all normal. He was just slightly annoyed with me that I had let it happen, and then he glued the paw back on.
